Designed by Charlie Pingree of Banks Cove Woodworking in North Haven, ME.

Well known in the Penobscot Region of Maine, the custom built Banks Cove 22 offers fast, safe, and reliable transportation to and from your destination. Hand crafted from top to bottom, the hand selected teak accents and custom Awlgrip finish will keep you feeling stylish and comfortable on the water. With excellent stability in choppy conditions, the modified V bottom hull and hard chine makes for an exceptionally seaworthy boat which carves through the sea at a top cruising speed of 38 knots, leaving a minimal wake and keeping you and your passengers dry. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a first time boat owner, the Banks Cove 22 offers effortless boating for all of your seafaring adventures.

How It’s Made

The Banks Cove 22 is handcrafted from top to bottom using the best materials available; hand-laid fiberglass, either solid or over high strength, water resistant marine foam core, high quality gelcoat, custom awlgrip finishes, and high quality teak.

The Evolution of the Banks Cove 22

The original Banks Cove 22 was designed as a simple center console with no T-top and a small windshield. Designed and built on North Haven, Maine, a handful of the early boats were used as work boats for lobster fishermen or to ferry supplies across the bay. After Pemaquid Marine took over the rights to the Banks Cove 22, production increased and at least 100 boats have been hand-built since. In the last three decades, the Banks Cove 22 has gone from a simple work boat to a pedigreed yacht-quality fixture on the Maine coast.
